Privacy policy

Short version
CapyBro is a local Windows program that processes your text. I (a single developer) have no servers and collect no data about you.
What's stored on your computer
- Your settings (UI language, hotkeys, AI provider).
- Your OpenRouter API key — encrypted via Windows DPAPI. Only your Windows user can decrypt it.
- History of the last 50 operations (before / after text) — in the file ~/.ai_text_improver_v2_history.json in your home folder.
None of this data is sent to me or any third party.
What happens to your text
In OpenRouter mode: the text is sent to OpenRouter servers for AI processing. See their privacy policy at openrouter.ai/privacy.
In Ollama mode: the text is processed locally on your computer. Zero network transmission.
Analytics and tracking
I don't use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or any other user-tracking system. The program doesn't «phone home».
Exception (for Pro users): if you activate a Pro license, the program checks the key's validity through Gumroad once every 30 days. Only the key is sent, no other data.
Cookies on this site
